Highlights by Cesar Monés, representative of the Municipality of Vinarós, Spain, showcasing the project EFICENED
A technical workshop took place in the Universitat Politècnica de València, focused on small and medium enterprises, as well as research and technological organisations, to share the lessons learnt during the implementation of PROMINENT MED. The main highlights of the experts who participated in the panels are gathered in the following lines.
Cesar Monés, representative of the Municipality of Vinarós, Spain, showcased the project EFICENED, which is framed under the Strategy of Urban Development between the municipalities of Vinaròs and Benicarló, funded by ERDF funds, and focused on the low carbon economy solutions. It was boosted by the philosophy of developing Vinaròs as a smart city, using the PPI as a tool to identify the best solutions for improving energy efficiency in municipal buildings, up to a 30%, and reducing the CO2 footprint in a 40%, and particularly boosting the generation of electricity by renewable energy sources.
Currently they are writing the terms of reference, and are facing difficulties in defining the criteria and assessment criteria. In addition, they have a webpage where all the procedure can be followed with transparency. The studying phase is therefore completed. Future steps consider the implementation of the procurement and the testing of the solutions.
