The potential of co-management for the sustainable use of marine natural resources

Marco Costantini, WWF  Mediterranean Marine Initiative Regional Manager for Fisheries, will join a workshop on the potential of co-management for the sustainable use of marine natural resources in the Mediterranean region as PHAROS4MPAs' representative.  
This workshop is organised by PANACeA and the Conference of Peripheral Marine Regions of Europe (CPMR) at the margins of the GFCM FishForum in Rome, Italy on 10 December 2018.

Objectives of the workshop:

  • Showcase the potential of participatory multi-stakeholder governance, as a means to facilitate the sustainable use of natural resources in the Mediterranean Sea
  • Promote co-management practices as an efficient and promising innovative tool for the sustainable use of marine natural resources in the Mediterranean region
  • Present examples of co-management best practices from several MED projects, as well as their research results
  • Enable the audience to reflect on potential gaps and policy recommendations to address multilevel policies and structural governance issues in the Mediterranean Sea region.
